Frequently Asked Questions

Near&Dear provides warm, non-medical companionship and light practical support for elderly parents in Cape Town. We visit once or twice a week (depending on your plan), offering friendly conversation, help with errands, and gentle observation to ensure your loved one is comfortable, connected, and cared for.

No – we’re not a medical or frail-care service. Our focus is emotional wellbeing and companionship. We help with small errands, appointments, and daily support, but we do not provide medical or personal care. If health concerns arise, we immediately notify the family so they can take the right steps.

Absolutely. Our plans are flexible – visits can be combined or extended to suit your loved one’s needs. We also offer optional add-ons (like flowers, birthday cakes, or special errands) for an extra personal touch.

At the moment, Near&Dear operates in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, with plans to expand gradually to other areas as our trusted team grows. You can still contact us if your loved one is outside this area — we’ll do our best to assist or refer you.

All plans are billed monthly in South African Rand (R). Payments can be made securely online through our website. You can pause, upgrade, or cancel your plan at any time with one month’s notice — because we believe in flexibility and trust, not lock-in contracts.

Yes! We love personal requests — whether it’s arranging a birthday surprise, dropping off fresh flowers, or planning a friendly outing. Near&Dear is designed to feel like family, so we’re happy to go the extra mile.

After every visit, we send a WhatsApp or email update – summarizing what we did, how your loved one is doing, and noting any changes or highlights from the visit. This keeps you connected and reassured, no matter where you are.
